Davidson Associates is a consulting firm specializing in providing professional communications services to clients. Owner John Davidson has worked for more than 30 years in the newspaper business and brings an insider's knowledge to the job of helping clients maximize their communications potential. Our specialty is nonprofit organizations.

Biography

John Davidson is a longtime newspaper editor and writer, including 21 years at Denver's two metropolitan daily papers, The Denver Post and the Rocky Mountain News.

John graduated from San Francisco State University, where he was named outstanding male journalism graduate. He went on to win numerous professional writing awards in the San Francisco Bay Area, including best news story and best feature series.

John has earned a reputation as an accomplished organizer and strategizer. Among other things, he helped organize his newspaper's coverage of the Democratic National Convention in San Francisco.

He has received advanced journalism training from the American Press Institute, the Poynter Institute and Ohio University.

John has long been active in community affairs and is familiar with how nonprofits work. For 10 years, he has been a volunteer and board member at Harrison Memorial Animal Hospital, a nonprofit that serves primarily low-income clients. He was twice named Harrison's humanitarian of the year.  He has also volunteered for Big Brothers of Metro Denver, Goodwill Industries' e-mentoring program for high school students and was four-time chair of the Denver Press Club scholarship program.

John is an avid golfer, baseball fan and student of history.

He and his wife Joanne live in Denver.
